The country almost monopolizes all important resources. On the basis of this kind of monopoly, the state controls almost all of the social life strictly and comprehensively. However, the arrival of the Individualized Society breaks the constraint and control of the Overall Society. The rise of individualism strongly hits collective consciousness and interests. At the same time, the status, consciousness and rights of the individual is improved and protected. With the rapid development of economic society, individuals have a lot of leisure time and emotion, which stimulates the leisure mentality and recreational level of the whole society. Individual demand and desire for leisure leads the reduction of Chinese martial arts function including combat, contest and trophy, while its leisure, fitness, entertainment function is increasingly highlighted. This paper uses the literature method, logical analysis, expert interviewing method, comparative analysis and other research methods. It is from the perspective of individualism to analyze the reasons of the existing problems of Chinese martial arts, and to make social analysis on the individual characteristics of martial arts, sorting out the correspondency between Chinese martial arts and the individualized society, so as to make the sustainable development plan of Chinese martial arts in the new social background.
