PAGE PAGE VI Abstract After over two decades development, China’s engineering machinery manufacturing has played a very important role in global scope, a global center for engineering machinery manufacturing has emerged gradually in China. According to economy globalization and the intensive domestic market competition, more and more China engineering machinery manufacturing companies start their strategy of going abroad and stretch their supply chain to other countries, including foreign direct investment(FDI),or merger and acquisition(MA),in order to compete in a broader international place and search for new development space. Establishing international supply chain is their necessary choice. International Supply Chain(ISC) is also called Global Supply Chain, which is based on the basic theory and mode of supply chain, according to the principle of international division of labor and cooperation, to optimize the disposition of global resources and to make the superiorities complemented. The operation characteristics of supply chain reduces enterprise stock and transportation cost greatly. Many advanced methods of supply chain management bring huge profits to enterprise. ISC demonstrates the formidable competitive advantage. However, because of involving many transnational businesses and broader area, facing more complicated situation, its operation mode becomes more complicated and it will face more risks and challenges. The ISC will be influenced by different politics and law system, economy, policy, language, custom, culture and currency in different area. These risks is inevitable, they are new challenges for China engineering machinery manufacturing companies during the course of stretching their supply chains abroad. The researching of this theme becomes urgent and has direct practical meaning.
