PAGE PAGE 4 The teaching design 顶效开发区中学 周兴梅 Content: (Book1) Module5 A Lesson in a Lab VOCABULARY AND SPEAKING Analysis of the teaching material: Vocabulary and speaking is the second part of Book1 Unit5 A Lesson in a lab,which refers to some words about numbers and some related activities.By practising the exercises,let the students master how to read numbers in English.As we all know,it is important to know about how to read and write English numbers in the whole process of reaching,especially in the listening and reading comprehension,there are always some questions which are related to numbers.So it is important and necessary for students to learn and master how to read and write numbers in English. Analysis of the students: Because most of the students are poor in English,I will deal with it by showing some examples and help them look for the rules,then let them practise some exercises in various ways.It will need a class. Teaching aims: 1. To improve the ability of speaking 2. To master some words 3. To help the students master the rules of reading English numbers. Teaching important and difficult points: To master the rules of saying numbers,ordinal, fractions , decimals and percentages. Teaching guide: Read, analyze, conclude and practise Teaching procedures and ways: Step1. To have the students know how to read the long numbers.At first,the teacher tells the students the rules of reading English numbers. After the students know the way of reading these long numbers: where to say “billion”, “million”, “thousand”, and “hundred”. Finally in order to consolidate what they have just learned, the teacher can practise saying some numbers on the screen with the students to make sure the Students have the correct intonation.
