In network teaching, not only can teaching materials be shared online, more importantly, effective and full communications can also be carried out online between teachers and students and among students. At present, network teaching platform has become a tool for teachers to communicate with students, and can provide support for teachers to implement online teaching. In more and more colleges and universities, network teaching platform is adopted as a tool to supplement classroom teaching. As Guangxi province is located at the west of China, its education and economy has been largely left behind by those of developed regions, and its use of network teaching platform to supplement classroom teaching is relatively backward. There are still a variety of problems existing in the process of applying the network teaching platform into practice. By an analysis of the relatively common network teaching platform in universities in Guangxi province, this paper achieves a general understanding of the status quo of the use of network teaching platform among teachers and students; besides, the paper further analyzes the factors that affect the effective application of network teaching platform; on this basis, the paper proposes some strategies which aims to achieve the effective application of network teaching platform, in the hope of improving online teaching effect.The paper adopts several research methods, which are as follows: (1) literature analysis: the a
