IIIIAbstractIn the Olympic Games sponsored by Beijing in 2008, as the Top winner of gold medals, China has shown a strong national competitive force of sports. As we rejoice for the triumph, a reasonable analysis and a reflective thinking on the development of China’s sports are necessary. After all, being ranked at the top of gold medal list does not necessarily indicate being strong in sports power. According to the theory of competitive advantage, competitive force is the competent which reflects the active forces in a certain trade or field, therefore would be instructive in making strategic policy. The present research in the competitive force of sports industry has been initiated, but it still has not covered the whole field yet. Therefore, the research must be deepened and extended. This dissertation focuses on commentary research in national competitive force, which includes visible competence and potential competence, designs an assessment system for national sports competitive force, analyzes the current ranking list of national sports forces, the similarity, characteristics and the causality, which will represent the sports competence of a nation.This dissertation focuses on summary, basic theory, the concept, the assessment mechanism, and the experimental analysis of the assessment of national sports competitive force.The first part is an introduction, including the significance, the review of internal and external research of the topic, the basic thoughts and the innovations.The second part is about the assessment of national sports competitive force. Assessment is essential to any competition. As a comprehensive force of a various aspects, how to assess and compare the competitive force efficiently is very important. A scientific assessment mechanism is crucial to the comparison and judge of the comprehensive competitive sports force of a nation.The third part is about the basic theories. The assessment mechanism of national sports is closely related t
