* Theoretically, all infertile women are candidates for IVM treatment. However, pregnancy rates are directly related to the number of oocytes retrieved and embryos available for transfer. Therefore, the best candidates for IVM treatment are women under 35 years of age who have polycystic-like ovaries seen on ultrasound scan because younger women have a greater number of follicles that continue to grow through to the preovulatory stage of development during each menstrual cycle. * Figure 3.
