To learn about additional features of WinCoder or WinProducer, refer to the appropriate online help. While using this guide, you should be aware of the following:
? When you see text in bold font, it means that the item is a button or icon.
? If two menu commands must be selected—such as selecting File and then Open from the File menu—they will be separated with a greater-than sign (File??Open).
? Text that you have to type directly is in monospaced font, like this.
Capturing Your Video
Before you can make a movie, connect your camera to your computer as instructed by the camera’s manufacturer. You are then ready to use WinCoder to capture your video.
To capture your video using WinCoder:
1. If you are capturing a video with a DV device, turn your device on in its video tape recording (VTR) mode.
2. From the Start menu, choose Programs InterVideo WinCoder InterVideo WinCoder.
A WinCoder Video Window and Control Pane similar to the following figure appears. The Control Panel includes options similar to those found on a VCR.
WinCoder displays the DV Control Panel only if you have a DV device attached to your computer. This panel lets you control your DV device through WinCoder.
3. Click the Properties button on the Control Panel.
The Properties dialog box appears.
4. Select the Record tab.
