Cognitive tools that scaffold and support students’ learning A process of creation, implementation and use by innovator, educator and student. Bidirectional dialogic interaction between innovation and established practice Interaction should be in genuine ways Flexible nature of both teaching and technology. Opportunities for legitimate participation (Lave Wenger, 1991) Legitimate peripheral participation ‘Moving toward full participation in practice involves not just a greater commitment of time, intensified effort, more and broader responsibilities within the community, and more difficult and risky tasks, but, more significantly, an increasing sense of identity as a master practitioner’ (Lave Wenger, 1991, p.111).
