AbstractThepowerqualityattheendoftheexistingelectricpowersystemissopoorthatcannotsatisfytherequirementofpeople.However,thedemandsforelectricityandpowerqualityhavebecomingmoreandmorehigh.Tosolvetheproblemofelectricpowerqualityisimminent.Achievingthereactivecompensationandsuppressingtheharmonicwithactivefilterattheload-sideismainlyusedtosolvetheseproblems.CascadedH-bridgeSVGisthemaintopologyoftheactivefilterwithcompacttopologyandlessswitchingdevices,comparedtotheotherkindsofconverters.Itscapacityisalsoeasytoenlargeandthecontrollerissimpletodesign.Theseadvantagesmakethetypeofreactivepowercompensationdevicecanbethemostwidelyusedengineeringapplication.ResearchingandimprovingcontrolstrategyforthecascadedH-bridgeSVGhasanimportantsignificance.Inthispaper,thecascadedH-bridgeSVGwastheobjectofstudy.Firstofall,itsdomesticandinternationalstatusandbackgroundwerereviewed;thenthispaperintroducedthedesignoftheexperimentplatform,presentingthemaincircuitstructureofthepowerunitmoduleandthecommonlyusedmodulationofthecascadeH-bridgeSVG—CPS-PWMinmoredetail.Thenthispaperrecommendedthreecommonlyusedcurrentcontrollingmethods,includingtheirprinciplesandsimulationresults.AndsummarizedthatthedecouplecontroltechnologywouldlowthedynamicresponseoftheSVGspeedwhensurpressingtheharmoniccurrent;currenthysteresiscontroltechniquewasofgoodreal-timeperformance.However,it’smoredifficulttorealizeinthecascadeSVG;Dead-beattechniqueusedwithCPS-PWMmodecanbeincombinedwithcascadeSVG,andresponsefast.Finally,thepaperselectedthedead-beattechnologytocontrolthecurrentdirectly.Meanwhile,onthebasisoftheanalysisforphase-in-phasevoltageimbalancefactors,thispapercomparedtwocommonlyusedDCvoltagebalancingcontrolstrategiesinphase:controllingthereferencevoltagefortheunit;changingthePWM.Basedontheanalyses,thispaperconcludedthatthefirstmethodwasnotstableandthelatterregulationwascomplexwhichwillleadthepowerunitsworkatdifferentfrequency.ThepaperproposedonenewstrategytorealizethebalanceforDCvoltageineachphasebycontrollingthedutycyc
