AbstractAl/Tibondedstructuralcomponents,withexcellentperformancesoftwo alloys,possesscomprehensiveprospectofaerospaceapplications.However,theexistenceofhardandbrittleinter-metalliccompoundslayerinthejointisprimaryproblemfortheweldingAl/Tidissimilaralloys,becauseitcausesthepropertyof joint decrease.Inthispaper,dissimilarmetalsofAl/Tiaresuccessfullyjoinedbylaser welding-brazingprocesswithAl-Sifillerwhichissingledoutviacomprehensiveanalysis,whichavoidthesedefects,suchaspore,cracks,burninglossofmetalelementsinlaserweldingprocess.Itisfoundthattheweldingstabilityisaffectedgreatlybytheenergydistributionofspotinlaserwelding-brazingprocess.TheheatingoffillermetalandbasermetalsbycircularspotwithGaussian distributionofenergyisinclinedtotheburninglossoffillermetalandflux,or thebadspread-abilityoffusedfillermetalduetolowtemperatureofbasemetals.Theadoptionofellipticspotobtainedbyinclinedlaserbeamcanenhancetheprocessstabilityandimprovethesurfacequalityofbrazedseam.Thegoodjointisgotbyoptimizingtheprocessparameter,suchaslaserpower,weldingspeed,thespeedoffillermetalandsoon.Theaveragestrengthofjointsisabout298 MPa,over85%ofstrengthofaluminum.Anditisobservedthatlaserpoweristheultimateaffectionofjointstrength,thedefocusingamountistheweakinfluence,andthe weldingspeedbetweentheformer affectionfactor.Therectangularspot(4×2mm2)withsymmetricalenergydistributionmakethegreatestprocessstability,thebroadestprocessingparameterandbestsurfacequalityofseam,butthepowerdensitywhichensuringthegreatspread-abilityof fusedfillermetalcanbeobtainedonly by thehigher laser power.Furthermore,theinterfacebehaviorandbondingmechanismofAl/Tijointsobtainedbylaserwelding-brazingprocesshavebeenresearchedTheinter- metallic compounds withnon-homogeneous distributionin Al/Tijoint isconstitutedofbinaryAl-TiandternaryAl-Ti-Sicompounds.Thelayeredinter- metalliccompoundswithdenticulardistributionenhancetheareaofstress, increasethepropertyofAl/Tijoint.Thethicknessofinter-metalliccompoundscanbecontrolledbelow10um,duetothe
