Common Measures Overview Overview Common Measures: Where did They Come From? What are the Key Dimensions and Benefits? In 2001, the President’s Management Agenda announced an aggressive strategy to improve the overall management and performance of the Federal Government. As part of the initiative, programs with similar goals were to apply a consistent (common) set of measures in order to measure and report their performance. Key Dimensions During the last program year, the transition year, the application of Common Measures to HVRP and VWIP was a work in progress. In PY2007, Common Measures reporting was formally instituted. Requires a partnership and on-going dialogue between VETS Staff and the Competitive Grantees, primarily communicated through the Common Measures Quarterly Technical Goals Sheet and the Common Measures Quarterly Technical Performance Report (Both available on the VETS webpage) . It has been the intent of the agency to accommodate this new Common Measures performance methodology. While retaining key measures (namely the placement rate) that are still appropriate measures for HVRP and VWIP. Without allowing the new measures to adversely impact the delivery of services by these programs.
