[Class] Good morning/afternoon, Miss/Mrs./Ms./Mr. Ask the class if anyone remembers what todays lesson is about. Remind the students that you discussed this at the end of the previous lesson. Quickly review the previous lesson. Does anyone remember what to say when you meet someone new? (Nice to meet you.) Tell the class that todays lesson is also about greetings and good manners. What do you say to greet someone in English? (Hello, hi.) Explain that English-speaking people often shake hands as part of their greeting. Remind the class that they know another greeting. Todays activity is an action song that reinforces the new vocabulary for this unit. TEACHING TIP Change the order of activities Its a good idea to change the order of activities in your class from one lesson to the next. In the last lesson, students looked at the student book before they did any activities or exercises. In this lesson, the class does an activity (a song) first. Changes such as this makes your class less predictable and keeps students engaged. Tell the students they will learn an easy song. Go over the words to the song before you play it on the audiotape. Give the class a rough translation of the lyrics, and explain that the last line is another way to say good-bye (and wishing good fortune).
