And we can have all kinds of ways to celebrate the holiday. For example, we can celebrate it by holding singing, dancing, or going out and so on. But there must be a topic for your holiday, such as peace, happiness, friendship and nature. We can choose one. Ready for Speaking(1) Now take out a piece of paper as a role card. On the paper you’d better answer the following questions. 1. What is the topic of the holiday? 2. Why do you choose this topic? 3.What can you people learn from the topic? 4.How will you celebrate it? 5. When will you celebrate it? Speaking Example: I think we should create a Happiness Day instead. We should celebrate Happiness on the shortest, darkest day of the winter, because many people feel unhappy when it is cold and the sun doesn’t shine. People will celebrate by doing something that makes another person happy, for example helping them do something or giving them a card or a small gift. Most important, people should smile and laugh a lot on Happiness Day. Speaking Exchange your role cards with your partner(in a group of four). Learn from each other, correct some errors and help each other. Speaking Exchange your ideas with the others. Do not forget to put in some joining expressions. E.g. Well, all right. In one’s opinion I don’t quite agree with you. It sounds a good idea. Ask three students as judges to decide which group is the best and give some evaluations.
