ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION Material Name Specification Number STEEL, SHEET, HOT ROLLED HSLA WSS-M1A346-A1/A2/A3/A4/A5/A6 1. SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are hot rolled, fully killed, fine grained, high strength low alloy (HSLA) steel sheet possessing good forming and welding properties (see para 4.1). The choice of strengthening mechanism is at the discretion of the supplier and shall be described in the Control Plan. Specification WSS-M1P94-A shall be used where pre-coating by the steel supplier is required. Clarification: The variants and minimum yield strength level (MPa) are listed below: • A1: 220 • A2: 250 • A3: 300 • A4: 350 • A5: 400 • A6: 450 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for 2003 model year high strength automotive body parts. To assist in sourcing, additional information is included in para 5.
