云南外国语学校2012年秋季开学典礼 总校长杨敏博士致辞 Good morning everybody! Welcome to our beautiful girls, our handsome boys, and our devoted institution, and most importantly, to our new students who start school today. Thank you for letting me share this wonderful day with you. am specially honored to be here today, and I would like to extend my gratitude to you for inviting me to take part once again to the Yunnan Foreign Language School’s opening ceremony. On behalf of our dedicated staff and our distinguished teachers, I would like to greet you today and invite you to seize upon this unique opportunity to get to know and appreciate your school. To help our students to become citizens of the world is our school’s educational philosophy. Not only do we know what we want to achieve, but we also know that our school’s destiny is in our hands. We also know that with hard work and determination, we can do anything we set our minds to do. All of you are here today mainly thanks to your parents. In many cases, they have made tremendous sacrifices to allow you to come and study in our school. Indeed, they have taken an extra job or worked extra hours to pay for your tuition fees, or pay for a private tutor so that you could get to the level needed to enroll in our school, or even have spent long hours to help you do your homework when you were younger. We know how lucky you feel and how much we can all envy you. So what do we all, parents, school and society, expect from you. It would be nice if you would have a career goal that is clearly defined and that we can easily explain to our families, school and society. But most importantly, what we expect from you all is simply to express gratitude. Especially regarding your parents, when you come back from school, I want you to hug them, kiss them and say: “Thanks Mom and Dad for everything you are doing for me. I love you”.
