It is a reading material, which teaches us to learn appreciating, writing and knowing more about the sea. Through the learning of this lesson, the students can not only know more about the characteristics of different marine lives, but also improve their oral English and the ability of reading. 二、学习者特征分析 High school students are passionate and they like to study by themselves. Most of them have a good command of English and they can complete the work easily. But they are too young to have a good ability of logical analyzing. And for some students, they don’t like to study by their own. So I will show pictures and video to draw their attention and develop their independent thinking. 三、教学目标 1) Get students to know how to use these words: energetic, iceberg, penguin, crab, discount, measure and watch out. 2) Listen to the tape to know how to read correctly 3) Get the students’ to guess the meaning of words through context, which can form a good reading habit. 4) Through group brainstorming, students can form their own outlook toward the sea world out of reading. 四、教学重点及难点 重点:1) understand the whole passage 2)improve the students’ ability of analyzing, retelling and guessing 难点:How to improve the students’ ability of analyzing, retelling and guessing 1 I will use task-based teaching method to lead students to use what they learn in class and make the aims clear. 2 I will use direct method to play the video of the Sea World. First, the students can get the main idea of the passage; Second, the students will be interested in what I will teach in this class. 3 I will use cooperative learning strategy. Because it can develop the students’ cooperative ability for their future study and living.
