Abstract Obj ective T o valuat t h clinical f asibility of cool-tip radiofr qu ncy ablation
( CRFA) und r laparoscopy for r nal angiomyolipoma. Methods CRFA und r laparoscop w as
p rform d in 20 pati nts with r nal angiom yolipoma. R nal function, h moglobin( H b) and rythrocyt
s dim ntation rat ( ESR) w r r cord d b for and aft r op ration and th pati nts w r follow d up.
Results Th op ration w as succ ssful in all cas s w ith op rativ tim of 65 to 125 min, st imat d
blood loss of 60 to 150 ml. Of 23 l sions, 21 l sions ( 9 1. 30% ) w r ablat d compl t ly . R nal
function, Hb and ESR w r not significantly chang d aft r op ration. Of 17 cas s und rw nt follow up
for 3 to 27 months, 16 cas s show d compl t ly n crosis of th tumors, 1 cas app ar d local
r curr nc . Conclusion CRFA und r laparoscopy for r nal angiomyolipoma is an ff ctiv and saf
t cniqu .
