《是应试教育还是素质教育》 要求：1、人们对采用应试教育还是素质教育的看法不一。 2、两种教育的特点是什么？ 3、我的看法。 译文：随着社会的发展，应试教育的敝端越来越明显，而素质教育也越来越被人们认可。总的看来，这两种教育有各自的特点：应试教育，重视的是智育，偏重应试科目的教学，使学生的基本知识残缺不全，忽略了学生的基本素质的培养和提高，使学生很难适应进一步学习和参加工作的需要。素质教育则是依据人的发展和社会的发展所进行的教育，以全面提高全体学生的基本素质为目的，注重开发人的潜能，形成健全的个性为特征的教育。 因此我认为素质教育是我们培养人材的首选，虽然考试在当今教育中有举足轻重的作用，但考试中的几个问题是不能覆盖该科的全部的。所以考试必须与其它方法结合起来，全面考察学生的综合能力才能使教育向良好的方向发展。 The exam-oriented or competence-oriented educations The social development has made the defective components in exam-oriented education more explicit, whereas competence-oriented education has gained much more recognition than before. The interpretation of this phenomenon has, however, given rise to more discussion about the advantage and disadvantage of these two types of education forms. Generally speaking, it has been long recognized that the exam-oriented education makes an emphasis upon the instruction of knowledge required only by exam, totally heedless of the development of learner’s ability in other aspects. Obviously, this kind of educational system easily leads to learner’s incomplete command of knowledge, bringing more harm to the learner’s future development; while its alternative, competence-oriented education, observed in harmony with the development of human society, is characterized by the nurture of learner’s potential, thus enhancing learner’s ability in all respects. Therefore competence-oriented education is more likely to be much favorable than exam-oriented one, though, more often than not, great importance is attached to exam at present. In this sense, the changes are indispensable in the exam system with a view to enhancement of learner’s comprehensive ability in particular. All these require our effort in combining exam with the competence-oriented education in order to achieve the optimal results in education in general. -----By Duan Chenggang * * *
