Study on Relationship between Microclimate and Space Section of Urban Waterfront Green Belt A Case Study of Riverfront Green Belt in Suzhou and Shanghai LIU Bin-yi LIN Jun Abstract: In this paper, a typical urban waterfront green belt located in the west bank of Suzhou River in Shanghai was chosen to carry out an environmental physics data test including test design, test field and time selection ,data acquisition and analysis. Based on preliminary data, impacts of four space section design elements( i.e. terrain form, vegetation structure, tree canopy density, height of shrub) on microclimate was analyzed. Furthermore, microclimate adaptive design strategies were proposed for urban waterfront landscape in Shanghai in summer.
