This biennial competition is intended to encourage designers to discover, express and share unique wedding traditions and customs from around the world. It invites jewellery design talents to design unique gold wedding jewellery sets, incorporating the traditional Chinese wedding custom of extending well wishes to newlywed couples through symbolic jewellery gifts. Xifu International Gold Wedding Jewellery Design Competition 2017 is open to professional jewellery designers at all stages of their careers as well as students and graduates of all jewellery design disciplines. In traditional Chinese wedding culture, Shuangxi “囍”, commonly translated as double happiness, is an auspicious sign which symbolises joy and marriage.
