ANNEX 9 (Ref. §3.12.a) OSPAR CONVENTION FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT OF THE NORTH-EAST ATLANTIC MEETING OF THE OFFSHORE INDUSTRY COMMITTEE (OIC) CADIZ: 11 – 15 FEBRUARY 2002 OSPAR List of Substances/Compounds Liable to Cause Taint (Reference number: 2002-5) When regulating the use and discharge of offshore chemicals according to the principles set out in OSPAR Decision 2000/2, OSPAR Decision 2000/3 and OSPAR Recommendation 2000/4, Contracting Parties should identify and flag substances known, or liable to cause taint. The list of substances/compounds known (in bold), or liable to cause taint is in Appendix?1. Substances that have been tested and found not to cause taint are listed in Appendix?2. “Taint” should be considered an additional property and a prioritisation factor for Contracting Parties to be taken into account in the pre-screening process and the management decisions to be taken by national competent authorities.
