Fiberoptic bronchoscopy and airway management workshops are conducted during the initial training period and throughout the residency. The first year schedule includes the following rotations:Operating Room Tutorial One MonthGeneral Operating Rooms Five MonthsCardiac Anesthesia One MonthNeuroanesthesia One MonthObstetrical Anesthesia One MonthPain Medicine One MonthPost Anesthesia Care Unit Two WeeksPre-Admission Testing Clinic? ?? ?? ???Four WeeksVascular Anesthesia One MonthCA-2 / PGY-3The CA-2 rotations provide more in-depth subspecialty training in pediatric, vascular, cardiac, obstetrical, regional, , ambulatory, neurosurgical and thoracic anesthesia, and pain management CA-2’s also spend 2 months in the ICU which is co-directed by anesthesia faculty. The pediatric anesthesia experience is a three month rotation to Childrens Hospital. The second year rotation schedule includes the following rotations: Cardiac Anesthesia One Month Neuroanesthesia One Month Obstetrical Anesthesia One Month Pain Medicine One Month Pediatrics (at Childrens Hospital) Three Months Regional Anesthesia One Month Surgical Intensive Care Unit Two Months Thoracic Anesthesia One Month Vascular Anesthesia One Month CA-3 / PGY-4CA-3/PGY-4 residents choose from two training tracks in their final year, the Clinical Scientist or Advanced Clinical.
