Today, we invite you to attend this conference. It’s just because that we got a problem.It was about 2:30 pm on last Wednesday when A Vietnameseship has broken into the South China Sea and cruised around the YongShuIsland for nearly 20 minutes. We discovered that ship, and we tried our best to catch up with it. But as the speed of our naval ship is too slow, so we can only watch it slip away. What a shame! The foreign naval ships can cruise in our Chinese sea without any fear and we can do nothing except condemning them at the Foreign Ministry press conference. So, we have to improve our naval ships’ speed for defending the security of our territorial seas. After the survey, we found that this enemy ship was built in America, and its capability is better than our naval ships serving in the South China Sea. Then, we have investigated the naval ships’ speed of America, Russia and China. The results are shown in this chart.From the chart, we can see that in normal ocean condition, the top speed of the Chinese naval ships is 32 knots. The top speed of the American naval ships is 44 knots, which is about 38% higher than us, and the top speed of the Russian naval ships is 39 knots, which is nearly 22% higher than us. What a grim situation.After our investigation, we found that there are three factors influencing a ship’s speed.They are the power system, the ship’s type or structure and the hull material.So, professors, you are the experts in the above three fields, please talk about your ideas on the improvement of our naval shi
