China Block painting started :Jul 11, 2002 Vessel launched :Dec 23, 2002 Vessel delivered :Aug 7, 2003 Painting system :See specification GENERAL REPORT After assembly and acceptance by owner, surface preparation was done on respective areas of blocks and painted according to the specification. All water ballast tanks and fresh water tanks only applied 1 coat holding primer on block stage. After ship launching, erection joint was repaired and holding primer was roughened before the consequence coat application. All painting works were generally completed before ship was delivered. SUMMARY OF MAJOR AREAS 1) Ballast tanks and fresh water tanks Surface preparation by Grit blasting to Sa2.5 was done on all blocks and painted according to the specification with holding primer Penguard primer Grey during block stage. After ship launching, erection joint, burn and mechanical damaged areas were ground to ST3, and the holding primer was thoroughly roughened before the following coat were painted. (A) Water ballast tanks: NO2 Wing W.B.T (PS), NO3NO4 W.B.T(PS) were painted with 1ST coat Balloxy NB light Beige, 2nd coat Balloxy BN light Grey. While the other tanks were painted with 1st coat Balloxy JW115 Red tone, 2nd coat Balloxy JW115 Beige (RE: Paint system change was accepted by owner). (B) Fresh water tanks were painted with 1st coat Penguard HB Red, 2nd coat Penguard HB White. DFT was found at 350 microns in average. During dry dock all damaged areas were repaired and all tanks were accepted for closing. 2) External hull After block assembly before launching Grit blasting to Sa2.5 was done, painted with 1st primer Primastic universal Aluminum.
