Only the harmonious urban-rural relationship can guarantee social-economic development continuously, steadily and healthily. The paper analyzes the current situation of Hohhot urban- rural spatial relationship and the spatial distribution of village settlements, explores space development pattern of village settlements coordinating urban-rural development, strengthening urban-rural spatial structure, promoting the development of urban-rural integration from the perspective of overall urban- rural development, and puts forward the change of the existing village settlements layout from the highly dispersed to the moderately concentrated to balance urban and rural development.
