U ser Experience Design Group, H angzhou R D Center, ArcSoft Inc. , H angzhou 310012, China) Abstract:Based on the investigations of relevant literatures, t he concepts and relationship of userp tacit know ledge and explicit knowledge in product design w ere introduced. The externalization model and gyroidal model of tacit know ledge transfer w ere put forw ard. M ethodologies and key t echnologies such as protocol analysis, ethnography, graphic thinking, Kansei engineering, image scale were discussed, and the mapping of userp tacit knowledge and de sign know ledge was also analyzed. Finally, according to the integrated development of product design and informa tion technology, some highlighted research issues on userp tacit know ledge w ere presented and the future develop ment t rend w as out lined.
