Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, ChineseAcademy of Sciences, Shanghai 200030, China) Abstract:A new data filtering method named CVVF method, based on Vondrak filter and the technique of cross-valida- tion, is developed for separating signal and noise in data series, and applied to study of GPS multipath effects. Numerical simulation studies and real experiments indicate that the method is a powerful signal decomposer, which can significantly mitigate the random error of measurement and separate successfully signal and noise. The day-to-day repeating property of GPS multipath signal can be applied to remove efficiently the multipath disturbances in the subsequent day s GPS measure- ment, and therefore improve the quality of the GPS coordinate results.
