Abstract: Inchw orm - type piezoelectric linear actuators have lar e d isplacem ent and h i h resolu tion, but the mecha-
n ism of system output force dependin on the static friction of clam pin m echanism lmi its the system stiffness and outpu t
thrust. The inchw orm actuators were classified accord in to the structure type and actuation type of clam pin m echanism
and the cross- app lication w ith new m aterials or new technolo ies, and several classical inchworm actuators w ere in tro-
duced. In order to mi prove the thrust pow er several valuab le research d irections were presented.
