The introduction of a new English textbook at the undergraduate level has created some difficulties for teachers. These difficulties include the use of group and pair work. This innovation demands a move in the direction of a more learner - centered approach to teaching. The scope of the study was limited to the teachers and students perception, attitude and beliefs about collaborative teaching. The focus was on one of the strategies of CLT – group work and pair work. Concrete recommendations were given to improve the status of group work and pair work at the undergraduate level in public and private sector institutions of Pakistan.
