The twelfth chapter lymphatic system Section 1 general introduction The lymphatic system consists of lymphatic ducts, lymphoid tissue, and lymphatic organs (Fig. 12-1). Lymph flows along the lymphatic sinus of lymph vessels and lymph nodes, and finally flows into the veins. Therefore, the lymphatic system is an auxiliary system of the cardiovascular system that assists the drainage of tissue fluid. In addition, lymphoid organs and lymphoid tissue have the ability to produce lymphocytes, filter lymph, and carry out immune responses. Lymph ducts and lymph nodes contain lymph, referred to as lymph, in lymph nodes and lymph nodes.
