Michigan Career and Technical Institute Winter 2009 Machine Technology Curriculum Guide Program Description Certificate of Completion Programs (SOC Code): Machine Operator (51-4034) MCTI’s Machine Technology Program is run like a small machine/fabrication shop. Students are Production Welder (51-4122) taught to run various equipment including manual Fabrication Welder (51-4122) lathes, milling machines, welding equipment, and CNC Operator (51-4011) grinders. Students use hand tools to layout, finish, CNC Machinist (51-4012) fit, and assemble parts. Students may also learn setup and operation of CNC turning and machining The Machine Technology Program is two to four centers. Advanced students learn to use CAD/CAM term and students are expected to earn at least a software to generate G-code for CNC machining. Production Welder or CNC Operator certificate. At the end of the first term, the instructor invites Program Admissions Requirements: those students who demonstrate academic progress None by maintaining an accumulated grade point average or 2.0 or better and good employability skills to U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Profile: advance to the next term for either the Welding Track or the CNC Track.
