Tullis, JHE/304, stullis@mcmaster.ca Lectures: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 14:30-15:20, Room HH/302 Meetings with mentors: Weekly meetings with your mentors to discuss project issues are scheduled on Tuesdays, commencing at 15:30 in the following rooms: Attendance will be recorded. For any questions regarding the term project, please contact your project mentor directly. General objectives: 1. Lectures and tests will focus on the development of individual entry level skills in the graphical communication of mechanical design based on ANSI and ISO standards and the design of devices for torque and mechanical power transmission. 2. The team project will focus on the CDIO1 approach based development of mechanical design skills in the context of team work. Major topics to be covered by the course: 1. Methods of generating design concepts by a team for an open ended mechanical design problem. 2. Development of mechanical design concepts and prototypes using software/hardware tools. 3.
