It cannot be ignored in the study of geomorphologic changes. Pei-Kan, Pu-Tze, and Pa-Chang rivers are the main rivers running through Chiayi County. The geomorphological changes of the estuary of Chiayi County will be studied by aerial photos in coupled with the estuary-forming parameters and the relationship between the landscape and genetic forces will be discussed. This study shows that with the construction of banks subsidence of land since 1970’s, the coastline between Pei-Kan River and Pu-Tze River had not changed drastically except for the off shore sand bar of Pu-Tze River from 1976 to 2002.
