翻译美学视角下公示语的翻译研究Abstract The language of public signs is a kind of practical language which is displayed in public places. With the development of science, technology and transportation, the steps of globalization is faster than before. The earth is like a village, public signs which frequently appear in the public places have become a good way of showing extensive and profound Chinese culture. At the same time, humanistic spirit has also become a aspect which people pay more attention to. The translation of public signs, especially its English form, has become a window to show Chinese culture.Current status of public language is that, as a kind of practical writing, most people only pay attention to its application. Recently, more and more people start to carry out study on the translation of public signs after they notice its importance. Since aesthetic has became a independent subject, there are many Chinese and western scholars start to carry out their study on translation aesthetics. But, there are few people combine the two together. This article aims to show the representation of beauty on three levels including phonetics, wording and syntax from the translation perspective of aesthetics. When we translate public signs we should transfer beauty and never forget to realize equivalent transmission. The readers can enjoy the beauty of public signs, and also learn the indicative, persuade, reminding and warning signs. Translation aesthetics aims to study the relationship between translation and aesthetics, and make the will of the author is better to be understood by the readers in a more acceptable and appreciated way. Using translation aesthetics can beautify the style of practical writing, and leave the readers a stress impression.
