Abstract The technique for intro ucing exogenous DNA into plants, base on DNA fragments
crossing hypothesis, is use to irectly intro uce total DNA or target gene into plants, so as to pro-
uce a large quantity of variant materials for variety improvement by means of screening.As it is
simple an not subject to restriction of species of plants, more an more bree ers accepte an use
the technique in rice, wheat, cotton, soybean, maize an vegetables, have bre new cultivars with
isease resistance, pest resistance or other goo characteristics.Foun ation of the technique gave an
impetus to plant molecular bree ing research.
