Abstract. As an important subject in domestic education of China, music class is aimed to improve students’ aesthetic judgement and cultivate their sentiments. With the popularity of and people’s emphasis on quality-oriented education, a majority of teachers and student have been paying increasingly attention to the influence of music class. As a result, it is an inevitable trend of quality-oriented education to analyze the development situation of music class in primary schools of medium and small-sized cities in order to work out some effective strategies and further promote the development of music education in those cities.
