Distribution law of oil and gas in the earths crust The apparent heterogeneity of the distribution of oil and gas reserves in the region, formation and depth has attracted extensive attention of geologists in the past few decades. In the early days, this phenomenon was considered to be one of the main reasons for the uneven degree of exploration. However, in recent decades of exploration, has spread to nearly all of the earths surface, (including polar and desert and sea (Lu Yuanhai) and the continental shelf), unexplored virgin land has become increasingly less, and obvious heterogeneity in the distribution of oil and gas, has become the universally recognized real thing. This heterogeneity is mainly manifested in the following aspects. First, the distribution of oil and gas in the horizon (time), from Sinian to Quaternary oil and gas distribution, most of the oil concentrated in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic, accounting for 92% to 94.88% of all reserves, only 8% to 5.13% distribution in the paleozoic. The natural gas is mainly Paleozoic, accounting for 90% of the total reserves, and the proportion of Paleozoic is higher than that of the Cenozoic (third lines). Reasons: Paleozoic formation evolution time is long, oil is destroyed; the sedimentary thickness is extremely thin; the stable belt lacks good oil generating conditions; the evolution stage is high, and the mature gas generation is high. But in the new generation time is short, but because of the strong activity, large amplitude and high rate of sedimentation, and hydrocarbon generation provides good conditions for the formation of rocks; accompanied by seafloor spreading, heat transfer enhancement, temperature gradient increases, the hydrocarbon generation of organic matter greatly reducing the time required.
