School of Chem istry and Environm ent, South China Norm alUniversity, Guangzhou 10631, China) Abstract: The behavior of corrosion on negative strap of sealed lead- acid battery w as ob served. The results indicated that during the use of sealed lead- acid battery, the potential of strap is polarized to correspondingly more positive values compared to - 097 V ( the Pb/ PbSO potential), w ith increasing length of the film above the separators, and the morphol 4 ogy of corrosion film d isplayed d ifferent ingredients. The morphology of the straps section indicated that the enrichment of tin m ight lead to intercrystalline corrosion, wh ich contribu ted to the invalidation of the strap.
