In th is p ap er, the author points ou t that the exce ssive foreign cu rrency re serves in the new era indicate the strengthen ing of the econom ic statu s of Ch ina in the world and the enhancem en t of the cap acity of Ch ina in coun teracting risk s, and at the sam e tim e, they reflect the contradiction s in Ch inese financial system. On the basis of th is, som e m ea sures to further p erfect the financial m arket and foreign cu rrency m anagem en t system are p re s ented, aim ing to tran sfer the exce ssive foreign cu rrency re serves from the nation to the coun trym en and p romote the scientific developm ent of foreign currency reserve s in Ch ina.
