中华医学会肾脏病学分会2013年学术年会 大会报告 PL-01 Challenges in treating CKD patients in 2013: what we do and do not know Adeera Levin ，University of British Columbia Patients with CKD are at higher risk for Cardiovascular disease, AKI, infections, hospitalizations and death than those without CKD. Through active research into mechanisms of disease, new drug therapies and epidemiology of different patient groups, we have gained new insights which will help us to modify and improve the outcomes of those living with CKD. Nonetheless, there are still major gaps in our knowledge, and a paucity of clinical trials to guide therapies. The variability in CKD progression remains a clinical problem for individuals and health care systems; as does the variability in response to specific medications and strategies. The interplay of conventional and non conventional risk factors for CVD has not yet been fully determined, which limits our ability to develop rationale plans. We as a nephrology community have increased our involvement in clinical trials, and do have answers to some questions. However, ongoing debates regarding methodology of those trials often limit the uptake of the results in clinical practice. The challenge of treating CKD patients in the current era is the challenge of determining and implementing rational treatment strategies in different populations, while maintaining a healthy respect and support for enrolment in large clinical trials.
