Com p ared w ith other conventional m ethod s, th is m ethod is more adap ted to the p ractical condition since both sup er structu re stiffne ss and soil condition s were con sidered in calcu lation. The calcu lation resu lts by examp le show that the ba se reaction is more un iform and the m aximum reaction decrea se s obviou sly. A ccordingly, the raft foundation design is more econom ic w ithout any lo ss of security for h ighrise bu ilding.
