Weng Rare Earth Elements, Rare earth elements (REE) have been extensively REE app lied in m at er ial s in du str y. Lim it ed exp or t fr om Mainland China resulted in high prices and unstable supply. REE It is necessary to develop efficient recycling technologies REE to provide adequate supply for REE industries. This r esear ch focu sed on utilizing n an o fer rit e REE magnets of inverse spinel pattern as the adsorbent and developing a set of adsorption, separation and desorption procedures to produce an environmentally friendly green adsorbent. Preliminary results of this proj ect are: 1. the development of adsorbent of nano inverse spinel 1. ferrite magnets (30~90nm) that rapidly and effectively 30~90nm REE adsorb REE (99.9%); 99.9% 2. utilizing an external magnetic field to accelerate the 2. 90 solid-liquid separation and recycling of REE ( 90% % REE efficiency); 3. adj u sting nano particle surface charge to rapidly 3. desorb REE ( 90%); REE 90 % 4. enabling normal recycling operation as the magnetic 4. properties of iron oxide are not affected by strong acid solution; 5.
