Fishery College, Ocean niversity of China, Qingdao 266003, China) Abstract: RAPD ( random amplified polymorphi DNA ) was employed to dete t the geneti variation of Fenneropenaeus chinensis. Samples were olle ted from Liaodong Bay, Bohai Bay , Haizhou Bay, Rushan Bay and Haiyangdao) . Fourteen 10bp RAPD primers were used for DNA amplifi ation and 19 samples of ea h sto k were analysed. Totally 103 markers were dete ted in a range of 200- 2500bp. Per entage of polymorphi lo i of ea h sto k was from 31. 07% to 34. 95% and geneti diversity was from 0. 1056 to 0. 1192. Geneti distan e between sto ks was from 0. 0243 to 0. 0742 and the index of geneti diversity of the sto k was 0. 2083, whi h indi ated that sto ks differentiated from ea h other geneti ally. Clustering of the sto ks was analysed by UPGMA. The RAPD revealed that the overall geneti diversity of F. chinensis was low.
