Abstract N- vinyl pyrrolidone was synthesized by inverse suspension polymerization (NVP), HEMA (HEMA) and N, N - methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) three micron copolymer microspheres (HEMA/NVP/MBA); effects of dispersing agent type and dosage, stirring speed, oil-water ratio and the amount of crosslinking agent to influence the ball properties and particle size; using infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to characterize the chemical structure of microspheres; using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to observe the morphology of the microspheres. The results show that the micron size HEMA/NVP/MBA three element crosslinked microspheres with good sphericity and controllable particle size in the range of 100~300 M can be prepared by reverse suspension polymerization. Whether the copolymer can become a ball is the first problem to be solved. The dispersing agent must be chosen properly, otherwise, the ball can not be made into balls or the ball forming rate is very low. The mixing speed is too slow, and the oil and water two are too bad, and the balling performance is very poor (that is, it can not be made into balls). Under the condition of better balling, the speed of mixing, the amount of dispersant, the oil and water two and the amount of crosslinking agent have great influence on the particle size of the microspheres. In order to prepare crosslinked microspheres with a particle size of about 180 m, the suitable conditions were as follows: stirring rate 400rpm, two-phase ratio, paraffin / water phase =40/11 (V/V), and dispersant (Span-60) dosage 6.58% (quality content in dispersed phase)
