The modified sisals w ere used as reinfor ed fiber in fri tion materials. The wear properties were invest igat ed by means of D-MS onstant speed tester and the results w ere om- pared w ith the raw sisal enhan ed and mineral / steel fiber reinfor ed fri t ion materials. T he results show that the fri tion fa t or is good for fitting w ith low flu tuat ions for different t emperature values. T he sisal is an ideal substi- tute for asbestos.
