Lif e Science and echnology Institute, Dalian Fisheries College, Dalian 116023, China) Abstract: A omparative study of ultrastru tural hanges of ells and organellae was ondu ted on diploid and triploid abalones, Haliotis discus hannai, during their spermatogenesis. The results showed that spermatogenesis in diploid abalone ould be divided into five stages: spermatogonium, primary spermato yte, se ondary spermato yte, spermatid and spermatozoon. A series of hanges o urred in morphology and stru ture, in luding hromatin ondensation, development and fusion of mito hondria, a rosome formation and ytoplasmi diminution. Compared with diploid abalones, the size of the ells and nu leus in the triploid abalone was signifi antly in reased in all levels of spermatogeni ells. Similar spermatogonia stru ture w
