T he characteristics of the surface texture are different from that of the general cylindrical grinding for the reason that there is a ariable of point grinding angle. Based on the analysis of the geometry of point grinding , the calculation model of the point grinding texture direction is built, and the characteristics of the point grinding texture and its influencing factors are explored. Moreo er, this paper analyzed the effects of the texture direction on the e aluation parameters of the surface roughness and the tribology characteristics in terms of the measured alue of the work processed by cylindrical grinding and simulation results of the point grinding texture characteristics. T he results show that the works w ith different texture directions ha e different e aluation parameters of the surface roughness. There is an optimal texture direction angle for the surface roughness in the profile perpendicular to the mo ing direction. Key ords:
