Abstract: Th is paper summarized the concept of secondary forest and two property types and wt o
management models, and explained themanagem ent trends of artificialism andm arginalism in China
trop ical secondary forest. The d iscussion show ed the tw om anagement trends can t promote sustain-
able m anagement of secondary forest, and four opinions had been d iscussed on promoting sustain-
able managementw hich included: transferring thew orldview to eco- ph ilosophy, applying the close
