At present, the biological ontology has widely received more and more attention and focus in the research on knowledge organization and management. In this pa- per, the relevant concepts of ontology are combed, and the classification and application of the bi- ological ontology are summarized, and the research status, problems and prospects of the HIV protein ontology are introduced so as to provide guidance and enlightenment for the subsequent studies.
