Since many parts of our country belong to areas where earthquakes are common, so it is necessary for us to learn about how to deal with earthquake. Earthquake experience can be very traumatic for anyone. If you know what to do during the earthquake can help in reducing anxiety and increases the awareness and ability to deal with it properly. No one knows when an earthquake will hit or how damaging it will be. But,any thing will leave traces , there will be signs of an earthquake before it happen. As soon as you feel earth shaking, find the nearest secure place. The secure place could be under the kitchen or dining table, under the bed, bench or a doorway If you are under the table or bed, try to grab a pillow or any other soft cushion and cover your head. If the table breaks, your head can still be safe. Look Out for Fires Sometimes earthquakes cause damage to electrical wiring or result in leaks in gas lines, so watch out for possible fires. If you are outside of home If you are outside of your home and some store, office or any other building, find the secure place like under the table. Stay calm and do not try to use elevators or run to stairs. If you are outside of home If you are in a crowded public area, crouch down, with your hands protecting your head and neck Use the Stairs If you have to leave a building after an earthquake stops, do not use the elevator; use the stairs instead. Earthquakes may result in damage to elevators or may cause other hazards where taking the stairs would be a safer option.
